Jamie Hitel is Director of Music at Christ Church Greenwich - a historical Episcopal parish just outside New York.
His responsibilities at Christ Church include direction of the Choir of Men & Boys, the St Cecilia Choir of Girls, the Canterbury Choir, and the Christ Church Consort. In addition to his duties, Jamie maintains a busy recital career, with concerts across the United States, Great Britain and Scandinavia.
Originally from England, Jamie became Organist and Choirmaster at St Paul's Episcopal Church, Akron, Ohio, in 2000, before moving to Greenwich in 2008. Jamie became a citizen of the United States of America in 2009.
Jamie is co-founder of and visiting artist for the Firestone Memorial Chamber Music Series, Akron, Ohio. This popular series has been showcasing leading musicians from the Cleveland Orchestra since 2005.
