Jamie HITEL the websiteJamie Hitel is a professional choral director and organist. In 2008 he was appointed Director of Music at Christ Church, Greenwich, an Episcopal parish with a three hundred year history located forty minutes from New York City. Originally from the UK, Jamie was formerly Organist and Master of the Choristers at St Paul's Episcopal Church in Akron, Ohio, between 2000-8. As Director of Music, Jamie Hitel directs the Christ Church Choir of Men and Boys, the St Cecilia Choir of Girls, and the Canterbury Choir - an ensemble of mixed teens and adults. Jamie is co-founder of and visiting artist for the Firestone Memorial Chamber Music Series, showcasing leading musicians from the Cleveland Orchestra since 2005. Jamie Hitel's most recent solo organ CD, Sounds Messianic, features works by Messiaen and Franck, and is available from LAMMAS records.
